How long are the lessons?
All lessons are 30 minutes of riding time. If students would like to come early or stay after to help with their horse, they are welcome, but it is not required.

All students are required to wear long pants and closed-toe shoes. Please also bring a helmet as we are no longer providing them.

Do I need any special gear?
After your first month of riding, we require you to purchase paddock boots and a riding helmet. We also strongly encourage riding pants and gloves.

Where can I purchase my riding gear?
Deer Springs Feed Store is right down the street from us and has a small selection of helmets, boots, riding pants, and gloves. Mary’s Tack & Feed in Del Mar has a big selection. You can also purchase online. Visit my amazon list here for a list of our favorite suggested items (I will get you this link)

Where do I park?
When you drive in, please follow the drive way back to the left, across the bridge and park along the rock wall in front of the big gray barn with the fountain in front. After you park, head over to the lesson barn, which is the smaller gray barn near the bridge.

What is the cancellation policy for lessons?
Cancellations must be made 24 hours prior to your lesson by texting or calling Jeanette at 323-449-2043. Lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours notice forfeit the cost of the lesson. Lessons cancelled more than 24 hours in advance may be made up during any available time before the end of the month

How do I cancel my lesson?
Please call or text Jeanette at 323-449-2043.

What happens if it is raining?
We remain open during inclement weather. We shift riding lessons to horsemanship lessons. Students can choose from a variety of subjects based on the level of student, including haltering, grooming, tacking up, bridling, lunging, and much more. If the arenas are too muddy for lessons but weather permits, we can take property rides. We have a 24 hour cancellation policy even on rain days. If you choose to reschedule more than 24 hours out, please remember all lessons must be used by the end of the month.
